Cross my heart!

Still feeling the Valentine theme for my card making right now! So here's one I came up with today, all by myself! :)

Card stock used: Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White and Pink Pirouette. All are Stampin'Up!
I used one stamp, from the single stamps offered at the end of 2012! If you loved being able to buy stamps one by one, get ready because they're about to run it again, with all new stamps!!
I used the Small Heart Punch by Stampin'Up and an edge punch that I've had for who knows how long! First I cut squares out of my car stock, then I took the edger and did both sides to make the shapes. I added a heart to each one and glued it all together! Didn't take too long and I love how it turned out!!

You'll be in my heart!

I'm not a big fan of Valentine's Day, but I have seen a few cards that I just couldn't resist putting my own spin on! Here is the Original card I saw, and here is my version.

I used paperbag brown card sotck for the actual card, embossed with Stampin'Up Starburst embossing folder. I cut strips 1 5/8 wide out of Valentine paper I picked up on sale at Michaels. I used the Stampin'Up Full Heart punch to punch a heart out of each strip. Then I left a space in between them when gluing them down, and I used a dimensional to pop up the actual hearts. I added a pearl to the center of each heart. The stamp is from the Singles special that Stampin'Up ran at the end of the 2012. (They are getting ready to run more of those! I love when they do that because you can by the stamps you like instead of the entire set! It's a great deal!!) I also stamped Happy Valentine's Day on the inside! I used Stampin'Up Chocolate Chip Ink for both! Super cute and easy!!

They're after me lucky charms!

Since St Patty's Day is just around the corner I thought making a card would be fun! I saw one some where that I liked, but I cannot remember where it was! I just had to wing it, so this is what I came up with!
Stampin' Up paper used; Starfruit, Whisper White, Gumball Green, Lucky Limeade, Pink Pirouette and Pumpkin Pie.
Punch used; Stampin' Up Bird Builder.
Ribbon used; Gumball Green.
I added google eyes and free handed his smile.
I added a stamp in the corner and I was done!
Simple &cute, I love it!
I will be doing this at my up coming workshop!!
If you would like to come please feel free to email me at raisingbassbrats@aol.com

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

The Very Hungry Caterpillar was one of my children's favorite books when they were little! I cannot count the times that I read it to them! Now when someone close to us has a baby I put a copy of the book in their shower gift, just to pass along something special! Tonight I came across a card on Pinterest, yes, I'm ALWAYS on Pinterest, that made me thing of those times I read that book to my sweet babies! Here is a link to the original inspiration! So, tonight I made a card inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and my children LOVED it!! I think I will be doing this one at my nest workshop!! Anyone who would like to come please feel free to email me!! Raisingbassbrats@aol.com
Card is made of Stampin' Up Gumball Green. I embossed a sheet of Whisper White with a leaf folder and sponged it with Crumb Cake, all Stampin' Up. I used the Stampin' Up 1 3/8 Circle punch and the Polka Dot Parade paper to make the caterpillar. I used a standard hole punch to dots and I free handed the antennas, then I added some google eyes! You can never go wrong with google eyes!! Then I just free handed his smile. I added the stamp in the top corner, in Elegant Eggplant Stampin' Up ink, from the Sprinkled Expressions Stampin' Up set! I think he turned out pretty cute!

Love me some scraps!

I really like to save my scraps, every scrap, just because I I hate to waste them! So every once in a while I will pull them out and try to make a card with them! The other day while surfing my favorite time sucking site, Pinterest, I came across a card that I wanted to make, so I decided to pull out my scraps!! here is the link to the card I saw Original card and here is what I came up with!
I don't have a die cut for the ribbon strips so I just used my cropper to make different width strips and then trimmed the ends with scissors so that they look like ribbons. The card itself is paper bag brown, made of recycled paper. I used lots of scrap paper some from Michaels and some of the Stampin' Up, Polka Dot Parade Designer Paper series pack. The ribbon is also Stampin' Up, Gumball Green. The stamp is a retired Stampin' Up set, stamped in Pumpkin Pie, which is one of my favorite Stampin' Up ink colors! I added a little brad at the top just for fun! This card was super simple & quick to make, and it used up some of my scraps! Happy carding!

Love is in the air!

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I'm starting to think about cards. Here is one I made tonight!

Card stock; Pirouette Pink & Basic Grey, both Stampin' Up.
Paper; Shiny grey flowered paper & baby pink gingham both from Michaels
Punches; 2 3/8 Scallop punch, whale tail Scallop punch, 1 3/4 circle punch, all Stampin' Up. I also free handed several other circles to layer in between the scallop punches.
Stamps; Greeting Card Kids and a retired sayings set, both from Stampin' Up.
Ribbon; Hobby Lobby.

Monkeying around....

A precious little boy we know turned 1 recently and we were invited to share his special day, at the zoo. Only fitting, I decided to make a punch art monkey card. Here's what I came up with.
For this sweet little card I used mostly retired Stampin' Up stuff ( I tend to favor retired things!), but you can recreate it with whatever you have handy! It's a basic whisper white card, topped with blue card stock, embossed with a folder that has random numbers on it. I used the large circle punch for the monkey's head, the heart punch & a free handed oval for his face, and the 1' circle punch for his ears. I added some googly eyes and free handed a mouth.  The stamp is from a retired Stampin' Up greeting set. Needless to say, everyone went bananas over this card! ;)
